Genovese was an Italian-born American mobster and crime boss who rose to power in America during the Castellammarese War. He was the leader of the Genovese crime family from 1957 until his death in 1969, one of the "Five Families" that dominate organized crime activities in NYC as part of the Mafia. He was known as Boss of all Bosses from 1957 to 1959.

Accardo, also known as "Joe Batters" or "Big Tuna", was a Chicago mobster and the boss of the Chicago Outfit from 1947 until his death in 1992. He moved The Outfit into new operations and territories, greatly increasing its power and wealth during his tenure as boss.

He bought the 22 room mansion in 1951 for a reported $125,000. It served as Accardo's unofficial command post until 1963, when he sold the home in favor of a more modest ranch home in North River Forest.

Adams is the boss of the Clerkenwell crime syndicate (Adams family), allegedly one of the most powerful criminal organisations in the UK. Media reports have linked the family to around 25 murders and credited them with wealth of up to £200 million. He sold this house in 2010 for £1M.

Amado Carrillo Fuentes was a Mexican drug lord who controlled the Juárez Cartel. He died in 1997 after undergoing extensive plastic surgery to change his appearance. The DEA described Carrillo as the most powerful drug trafficker of his era. His 'Palacio de Mil y Una Noches' (The Palace of a Thousand and One Nights) has been abandoned ever since.

Persico, also known as "Junior", "The Snake" and "Immortal", has been the de facto boss of the Colombo crime family since the early 1970s, one of the Five Families that dominate organized crime activities in NYC. Persico has overseen gang wars, murders, and major rackets, most of the time from prison. He has been serving a sentence of 139 years in prison since 1987.

As far as I can tell, his countryside retreat near Saugerties, NY, is still owned by his family.

Nicknamed "the Prime Minister of the Underworld," he became one of the most powerful and influential mob bosses in American history, eventually leading the Luciano crime family (later called the Genovese crime family), one of the Five Families that operate in NYC.

Zerilli (1897-1977) was an Italian-American gangster and crime boss who led the crime family known as the Detroit Partnership from the 1930s through the 1970s. It is considered one of the most active Italian-American crime families alongside the Five Families of New York, the Philadelphia Mob, and the Chicago Outfit.

His son, Anthony Zerilli, made headlines in 2013 when he publicly stated that Jimmy Hoffa was buried in a field in Oakland County, MI.

Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and his brother, Terry, are the founders of the Black Mafia Family (BMF), a drug trafficking organization originally based in Detroit, Michigan which was involved in large-scale trafficking of cocaine throughout the US from 1990 to 2005. At the height of his career, Flenory became one of the highest-earning black drug lords in US history. He's currently serving a 30-year sentence in federal prison.

The Hacienda Nápoles is the luxurious estate built and owned by Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar (1949-1993) in Puerto Triunfo, Antioquia, 200 miles northwest of Bogotá. The estate covers about 7.7 sq mi of land.

It included a Spanish colonial house, and a complete zoo with many kinds of animals from different continents such as giraffes, elephants and hippos. The ranch had a large collection of old and luxurious cars and bikes, a private airport and even a cart racing track.

Despite being in a state of disrepair it is a tourist attraction today, with tens of thousands of visitors each year.

Escobar's former Miami home is also featured on this site.
